Swinton Technology is delighted to have been awarded a contract to upgrade the metering computer system for Interconnector Limited (INT) at their Bacton Terminal.
INT owns and operates the physically, bi-directional gas pipeline between the UK and Belgium. The INT operation is located over three sites - commercially in London, and physically from gas terminals at Bacton in the UK, and Zeebrugge in Belgium. The company is part of the Fluxys Group, with SNAM holding a minority interest.
The gas compression terminals are linked by a high-pressure sub-sea gas interconnector pipeline. The pipeline is a vital connection in the supply chain across Europe for the import/export of gas and provides a strategic energy link between the UK and continental Europe. The Interconnector pipeline is highly flexible and can change direction in just a few hours, enabling shippers to respond quickly to changing demand and market signals.
Swinton Technology look forward to working with INT on this key system for the UK’s Gas infrastructure. A highly flexible pipeline requires a highly flexible metering supervisory control system, we look forward to showcasing our market-leading metering supervisory software, TruST with condition-based monitoring (CBM) diagnostics built-in.
