Using all of our experience, gained over many years of successful legacy flow operations worldwide, we engineer the best solutions to supply full turnkey flow measurement systems for our customers. We continue to build on that knowledge to develop our range of innovative flow computer systems, products and applications to meet the ever-changing requirements of oil and gas metering.

Always growing our understanding through our customer relationships, we are committed to continually developing our products and testing through our rigorous in-house processes.

Our experts attend regular flow measurement workshops to share our knowledge across the globe. They can regularly be seen at ISA events in the Middle East, including joint workshops with major operators such as Saudi Aramco.

A proven track record of flow computer expertise

We have built our industry-leading capabilities over almost 40 years spent at the cutting edge of flow computing. Many of our team have played key roles in the development of legacy flow computers and their associated metering software over several decades – most notably the S600 flow computer, which is used extensively around the world.

Our knowledge and expertise can be traced back even further to the 1980s and 1990s, when members of our team were part of Spectra-Tek, who were responsible for the development of several widely adopted flow computers – including the 869M Quantum and the Sentinel 500.

Our story continues as we strive constantly to grow our knowledge and develop ever more innovative metering solutions that meet the demands of the oil and gas industry. We have an expanding customer base that includes many international operators, such as BP, Shell, Total, Saudi Aramco, Talisman Energy, Total, Statoil, Petronas, Conoco Phillips, Maersk Oil and Centrica. Our focus is on developing these relationships and building new ones across the world.

Our experts based at sites in the UK and Saudi Arabia, and together we have engineered and installed more than 300 metering flow computer systems across the globe.

We partner with our customers to deliver turnkey solutions where we bring consultancy support, product guidance and supply, delivering added value with our maintenance support services. From pipelines to tanker loading, our trusted industry-leading solutions are at work in more than 60 countries, delivering accurate and reliable metering solutions.

We have developed trusted agent and business partner relationships across the world as we continue to build and grow new links internationally.

We have an office in Saudi Arabia to service all Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. Swinton Technology Middle East (STME) began operating in 2011. Our growth here has also been impressive, and we are now based in Al Khobar. From this operation we supply our systems, products and services across Gulf Corporation Council (GCC) countries of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and UAE.

Major operators often turn to us to deliver a cutover strategy that ensures minimal downtime. Our industry knowledge, insight and expertise mean we can identify the associated site risks and requirements of a live cutover and provide solutions to overcome them.

Swinton Technology was established in 2001. In 2009, as our operations continued to grow, we moved to a purpose-built facility in Malton, North Yorkshire, which is our company headquarters.

When the business launched we defined our mission statement, and it remains as relevant to us today as it did then:

To remain as a leading international flow metering solutions provider, our expertise delivers an infrastructure built upon knowledge transfer, skills, product support and aftercare. Our turnkey divisions bring operational and financial value throughout customer relationships, all managed by our greatest asset: our people.

The Swinton Technology company culture is also one of continuous evolution, a search for effective solutions and the future-proofing of systems and processes. Well over two thirds of our completed systems worldwide are based on upgrades of older metering computer systems.

Our computer-based platform combines our Quality Management, Health and Safety and Environmental Management Systems and provides up to date QA and HSE information and guidance for all interested parties including staff, customers and auditors.

Continual development and improvement of our Quality Management System has company-wide ownership. Staff, management teams and our board of directors take collective responsibility for ensuring we add value and confidence for our customers with our approach to quality procedures.
