The evaluation of uncertainty is an essential component of measurement, without which it is impossible to make meaningful comparisons between metered quantities or demonstrate compliance with agreements and regulatory requirements.
Our Live Uncertainty operates on an annual license basis. An annual uncertainty review is included within the yearly license fee. As part of this review, we will send an equipment survey form; this provides an opportunity for the Operator to confirm or signal any model change of ancillary metering equipment, which we then use to update the uncertainty calculation models accordingly.
Uncertainty calculations can be modified to reflect any updates to existing standards or new calculation standards which are adopted. This is part of the tailored Live Uncertainty service and ensures that the calculation models and, ultimately, the values are representative of the specific application and streams it is monitoring.
Untested patches can cause performance and stability issues for any software package, and in oil and gas applications, this is a critical consideration in maintaining a metering computer system. When Live Uncertainty is supplied as an integrated solution with a TruST Metering Supervisory Computer, patch testing can be captured quarterly as part of our maintenance support contract.
