Introduction
In 2022, Swinton Technology (A Sensia Company) supplied Heirs Oil & Gas (HHOG) with six metering panels. Interfacing with Sensia metering skids the complete systems are destined for sites in Nigeria.
The metering system will measure liquid from various fields confirming the amount of Crude and how much water is being received. The water content in the lines could be as much as 78% from the land-based wells.
Overview
Each of the systems comprise of 3 Flow-X flow computers configured to measure two streams and a master meter prover connecting to Coriolis meters and an array of transducers located on a skid with all the associated pipework and valves. The systems also measure the water content of the Crude and take samples for later analysis.

A redundant pair of Metering Supervisor Computers (MSCs) running the latest TruST software, not only control the metering functions, but collate and archive the data/results. The MSCs also calculate the live and period Uncertainty for each of the streams. This data together with all operational data is transferred to the Sensia Central Production system located in the cloud.
Products Used
TruST
The latest version of TruST provides a new User Interface (UI), which is more graphically rich, more intuitive to use, has more flexible features and is less system resource intensive than our previous User Interface.

EyeMet
EyeMet, a metering Management Information System (MIS), provides a means to view and enter the Uncertainty data. The web application clearly illustrates information for metering technicians, metering engineers and managers, thus enabling appropriate and informed operational decisions to be made.

Connected Production
Similar to EyeMet, Connected Production is a web application that clearly illustrates information for remote viewing.

Outcomes
Two metering panels were shipped from the UK to Dubai where they were connected to the two of six skids, manufactured in the Al Shirawi fabrication facility on behalf of Sensia. A team comprising Heirs Oil & Gas (HHOG), National Petroleum Investment Services (NAPIMS) and Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) witnessed the successful function testing of the systems.

Swinton Technology’s engineers delivered a technically compliant metering solution to HHOG with Condition Based Monitoring (CBM) from remote locations.
