On Saturday 3rd June, the Heslerton Hawks Under 6 team, sponsored by Swinton Technology played a friendly tournament against York team, Wiggington Grasshoppers.
The Hawks played 3 games, each 5 a side. In match one, Wiggington were quickest out of the blocks however a superb goalkeeping performance from Harry kept the game close at half-time with the Hawks going in 1-0 down. Second half the Hawks hit their stride and pressed hard against the Wiggington side with Trent and Charlie looking dangerous with every attack. Charlie finally found the back of the net and 1-1 was the final score.
In Game 2, the Hawks played a hybrid side of Wiggington and Heslerton players. Another fine goalkeeping performance, this time from Thomas "the Cat" Horwell kept the score level at half time. Second half Charlie found the net once more, as did the opposition and another 1-1 draw was the result of the teams effort and dedication.
Game 3, the Hawks saved their best performance for last. Playing against Wiggington once more, another fine goalkeeping performance, this time from Noah and a fine attacking display from Trent and Valentine with a goal apiece at half-time saw the Hawks leading 2-1 at half-time. The second half was a mirror image of the first with Wiggington scoring once more, but a further goal from Trent Simpson and Valentine saw the Hawks victorious at 4-2.
